Rivets

We working in partnership with the UK's premium rivet manufacturers and can supply most rivets to the highest quality standards including:-

Solid Rivets
Used in many applications for high strength and suitable for impact or orbital riveting

Semi Tubular Rivets
Ideal solution for general purpose applications and suitable for impact and orbital riveting

Self Piercing Rivets
A hardened rivet which does not need a pre-formed hole and ideal for our Adtech impact riveters

Bifurcated Rivets
Self piercing rivets with split shank typically used for fastening non-metallic materials such as wood, cardboard, suitable for impact riveting

  Special Purpose Rivets

Includes Brake Lining Rivets and clutch rivets manufactured to globally accepted standards including BS3575, DIN7338, ANSI B187 and JISD4312 or to customers specified drawings.

Having a strong alliance with a rivet manufacturer is important for our customers because of the benefit gained in terms of better consistency, repeatability and reliability achieved when we design and build a machine which is optimised for both the rivet and the product. Obviously, there are many choices of rivet which means that to determine the best solution requires knowledge of what is available (and what is possible).

There are many variables which can be controlled to achieve a very specific result. To be able to do this requires both expertise in machine technology combined with expertise in rivet technology.

For example, one recent application was for a temperature measuring device which had metal contacts riveted to the surface. The device was required to operate over a wide range of temperatures and be resistant to vibration and fatigue failure. Because of our alliance with a rivet expert, we were able to specify a suitable rivet which had the required dimensions, which was made from a material suitable for cold forming, which had good electrical conductivity, which was fatigue resistant, which had the correct thermal expansion co-efficient, and which was commercially available (ie. available at the right price).

We are also able to evaluate alternative rivets which are sometimes more suitable than the original rivet specified by the customer. In fact, in one case we specified a semi-tubular rivet to replace a break-stem rivet which allowed the customer to gain a 1 year payback on his capital investment based on the savings made on the rivet alone!

In summary, we are able to supply customers with a very rounded solution combining their product, with the right rivet, with the right tooling and finally with the right machine.
