Uncle Jon wants you!

An invite for you to join the team.

Dear Reader,
I have a feeling that you'll have gathered that this month's article is in fact a thinly disguised job advert. True, that the disguise is as thin as Lady Godiva's jodhpurs but then this is not a traditional job advert. You will not find this advert is your local newspaper or in the window of a shop. Nor is it appearing in any of the thousands of online recruitment websites. In fact, this job advert is quite unique and designed to not attract a high volume of candidates - quite the reverse in fact - and by reading this far, you are already among a select few. So the chances of success could be good!
Of course I realise that you, Dear Reader, may not actually be looking for a job yourself and that you may have stumbled upon this page by shear chance or out of curiosity. However, because you have an interest in our business, my hope is that you will be able to help provide a vital link to the right candidate even if you rule yourself out of the running.
The role is to service, repair and inspect fitness equipment such as treadmill, cross trainers, and multigyms in your local area. From time to time, there may be other more general work opportunities in relation to our other business, but in the main it will be fitness equipment. It will involve travelling to customers' premesis and diagnosing problems and repairing faults on machines. We will provide you with details of the customers and make general arrangements for the visits and we will supply any spare parts you need. You will need to make the visit and complete the work for us. So you will need transport, a mobile phone and a toolkit which you will need to supply.
The sort of person I'm looking for would be someone with a good grasp of mechanical and electrical systems and an understanding how they work together. You won't need any specific knoweldge about fitness machines as we can provide training for that. If you have previously worked in a factory maintenance or field service role then you may very well fit the bill. You need to be well presented and professional and confident in communicating with the public. You must be punctual and be well organised with an eye for detail. Does this sound like you or like someone you know? If so, keep reading.......
The work may be completed during office hours or during evenings or at weekends. It is quite flexible and can be made to fit around your existing commitments. The role may suit someone who is semi-retired or somone who is looking for a new challenge or for a second income. It may not be suitable for somone needing a full-time job role as the volume of work may not be enough on it's own. We will pay you at a fixed rate per visit and there are no catches or small print to worry about.
There are a number of positions around the UK that we are looking to fill. Each successful candidate will be given a territory to look after which can be as large or as small as you like and any work arising in your territory will be yours. We will ask you to complete the work within a reasonable time to suit you and the customer.
If you want to know more then you need to call me on 07958 554909. You can call at any reasonable time including weekends. If I'm not able to take your call just leave a brief voicemail message and I'll get back to you. Alternatively, you can drop me an email using jon@northwick.eu.
Thanks for your interest and I look forward to hearing from you.
