PART BEING PROCESSED: Brass ball valve
MACHINE NAME: Mini-Z Robotic Welding System
CHALLENGE: This application needed MIG brazing of a ball valve assembly. Made of 360 brass (free-machining) with high zinc and low lead content, the assembly had plastic seals installed prior to brazing.
KEY TO SUCCESS: Using a horizontal lathe, digital weld control (inverter), and correct filler material/shielding gas combination, Orbitform's team was able to securely assemble the sample valves.

PART BEING PROCESSED: Sink
MACHINE NAME: Mini-Z Robotic Welding System
CHALLENGE: The application called for welding light gauge, deoxidized copper without compromising material strenght or appearance.
KEY TO SUCCESS: The samples were run using a pulsing weld power supply in job mode, with the correct amount of wire filler, gas, and travel speed.

MACHINE NAME: H-Frame Resistance Welder
CHALLENGE: The challenge was to hot-upset 3/16" diameter rivets to a form, while filling the cross-sectional area of the clearance holes (the rivets are forged in to reduce shearing).
KEY TO SUCCESS: Orbitform's team custom engineered a unique system to meet the needs of the application for force required, peak current, duty cycle, and final form.
